A new range of books and dolls - Book Babies - is "just right for the Slow Toy movement", says the company.

Book Babies 'perfect for Slow Toy Movement'

The products - on display on Toy Fair 2013 stand 152 - include plush ragdolls and books aimed at inspiring children from three years old and above.

"Each of our beautifully designed ragdolls comes complete with one of our hand-illustrated introductory stories," read a statement.

"Each book features a learning objective told through the tales of the friends with the help of their magical learning butterfly.

"The patentable novelty is that the storybooks are housed within the dolls, creating a portable, interactive and traditionally styled plush toy. Just right for the ‘Slow Toy’ movement."

Binky and the Book Babies is the brainchild of Heather Willey. In 2009 Heather graduated with first class honours in design and fashion promotion.

She applied for jobs but as the credit crunch took hold, there was nothing out there for inexperienced students. Disillusioned, Heather battled on, taking various retail opportunities hoping to eventually find a niche with a brand.

Unexpectedly she began working with a sponsor who was looking to create a start-up company and her idea was taken up. Book Babies Ltd was formed, and in 15 months Binky and the Book Babies was created for launch at this year’s London Toy Fair.
